Amsterdam University, Maastricht School of Management, Boggart Training Institute and Royal Tropic I

Western University is one of the first among educational centers to be involved in the largest international program which has been a TACIS project of establishing the first Master’s Degree Program in Business Administration in the Republic.

The program started in 1995 and was successfully completed in 1998. Four Holland universities took part in the program, namely: Amsterdam University as a coordinating party in conjunction with Maastricht School of Management, Boggart Training Institute and Royal Tropic Institute. As part of this international project, five selected teachers of Western University undertook four-month internships in Amsterdam and Maastricht in 1997. The knowledge and skills acquired during their internships were utilized for the development of the educational process through the sharing of their gained experience with the other teaching staff of the University.

Since the completion of the TACIS project Western University, with the support of invited foreign lecturers, has been able to take on the responsibility for the delivery of its own MBA program and develop further Masters Programs. Presently there are 10 new graduate programs developed at Western University which have been approved by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and more than 100 students have graduated from Western University under these programs.
