Institute Of Sustainable Human Development
The stable human development conception accepted in modern world presupposes the establishment of evolution and fulfilling the demands of the future generation in account of the today’s generation. It means that the use of natural recourses, preserving the environment and its rational use, summing up the knowledge and technologies and their development must be carried out in such a way that to make it possible for the future generations to use them in the same way as in our days. This successful approach: to the development in global measures supports the common idea towards human beings in carrying out certain economical, ecological and social factors characterizing the society and the national strategies of human development. From this point of view the creation of the national development institution is one of the most important elements of the implementation of the development conception.
The Institute of Sustainable Human Development has been established in Azerbaijan to study the human evolution and its scientific work. The activities of the institute are as follows:

Studying and investigating the modern condition of human development and ensure the cognisance of economic, environmental and social factors influencing this process.

Considering regional and gender factors, revealing current regularities to assess the conditions of human development based on data and dynamics of its components and carrying out its monitoring.

Developing and carrying out numerous projects, particularly among the disadvantaged population, for promoting human potential and speeding up the human development.

Participation in the implementation of the national human development strategy and conception.

Carrying out different programs on education in the sphere of human development
The institute provides a complex curriculum intended to promote the human development and organization the co-ordination of research in this field. One of the most important tasks is the dissemination of knowledge of human development among the members of the society, particularly among the youth. The Institute is committed to promoting co-operation with other state and non-state bodies, government and non-government organizations, national and international institutes. The Institute is also committed to carrying out studies in the following areas:

Natural, economical, social environment and their influence on human development;

Modern condition of human being and the monitoring of this process;

Gender aspects of human development;

Human conditions among the less protected layers of population (refuges, unable, elderly and women);

Regional differences of the levels of human development and their prevention
