On initiative of Western University and Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan a round table on the topic of “Azerbaijan, Turkic world and modern period” was held at Western University on may 20, 2003.

The following issues were discussed during the round table:

Global modern political processes and Turkic world
The economic integration in Turkic world
Ethno-cultural processes in modern Turkic world

The speakers were:

Tadeusz Swietochowski, professor of Monmouth University (USA), Willyam Fierman, professor of Indiana University, Ali Hasanov, Head of Public Policy department of President Office of Azerbaijan Republic, Novruz Mamedov, head of International Relations Department of President Office of Azerbaijan Republic,, Nizami Jafarov, head of Ataturk Center in Azerbaijan, Tehsin Cemil, the Ambassador of Romania in Azerbaijan etc.
