On the initiative of Ministry of International Affairs  of Azerbaijan Republic, Embassy of Greece in Azerbaijan and Western University, a seminar on the topic of “New Cooperation under the  New Conditions: Azerbaijan and European Union” was held at Western University on June 10, 2003.

The following issues were discussed during the seminar:

• The cooperation of Azerbaijan and European Union in the political and security  fields

• The relations between Azerbaijan and European Union after European Union expansion: future perspectives

The participants included Araz Azimov, Deputy Minister of International Affairs, Arif Mamedov, head of European Union Mission in Azerbaijan, Merkurius Karafotias, Ambassador of Greece, Shantal Puare, Ambassador of France, Klaus Grewlich,  Ambassador of Germany, Andrew Tucker, Ambassador of United Kingdom, Margherita Costa, Ambassador of Italy.
