On April 11-13, 2005 Western University in cooperation with Max-Plank Institute for Foreign and International Penal Law of Germany conducted the conference devoted to the Crime and Crime Prevention in the Countries of Transition. The conference took place with the financial support of ABA-CEELI, DAAD and Volkswagen Foundation.

 

The conducting of such kind of conference was of great importance for Azerbaijan at the current stage. The conference speakers were the representatives of the court system and the Ministry of Justice, Public Prosecutors, university officials, ambassadors and the very best experts in criminal law invited from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kirgizistan, Tajikistan,  Kazakhstan, Spain, Japan and Russia.

 

The following issued were addressed during the 3-day work of the conference.

Following the conference, the publication of the conference presentations in English, Azeri, Russian and German  languages is being planned.
