Earth
Day, celebrated every April 22 is the most significant day of the year,
because people from all nations, backgrounds, races, colors, religions
celebrate their similarities: living on Earth.
First launched as an environmental awareness event in the United States
in 1970, Earth Day is celebrated as the birth of the environmental movement.
Environmental crises abound as our daily actions pollute and degrade
the fragile environment that humans and wildlife depend on to survive.
Earth Day provides the opportunity for positive
actions and results.
In the frames the "Let’s turn Azerbaijan
in the blossoming garden " campaign of the Ministry of Ecology
and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan jointly with “World Vision” American
Humanitarian Organization the tree planting
began across the nation to celebrate Earth Day.
In the frames of the action, students of Western University actively
participated in the event by planting seedlings in Shemakha region.
