SCHOOL OF DESIGN

The School of Design offers a broad base of theory, skills and knowledge together with professional study in one of 4 specific majors - Interior Design, Graphic Design, Landscape Design, and Fashion Design.
The courses are designed to meet the changing needs of industry and to respond to new developments in market trends and areas of study. The School encompasses the best modern trends of American, British and Russian design schools as well as design traditions inherent in Azerbaijani culture. Along with the history of arts and material culture of Azerbaijan, the tradition of the Azerbaijani design is presented in the courses of miniature painting, carpet making and calligraphy.
The School offers an innovative and enterprising approach to both teaching and research, and students can find  a relaxed and friendly atmosphere here which helps to promote good learning and research environment.
Alongside with the highly qualified teaching staff of Western University, well-known artists, sculptors, architects, arts researchers and foreign experts from the USA and Great Britain are also involved in the training process. Our school is functioning in close contact with design schools of the Universities of Indiana and Alabama (USA). The students, who have undergone training by these Universities’ experts, receive American certificates.
For the practical training of our students, the School facilities comprise computer rooms, Internet center, computer graphics classrooms as well as drawing, painting and composition studios.  Students have the opportunity to expose their works at the University and City exhibitions and galleries etc.
