Bachelor of Arts in English Philology

Program length – 4 years full-time, 5 years evening

The program provides a strong background in knowledge of English literature and a practical command of the language, emphasising language as a means of communication and mutual understanding in the contemporary world. To help students to achieve this, the majority of teaching is undertaken in English.

The gradates shall meet the following requirements:

q       to have comprehensive knowledge of literature

q       to be profoundly acquainted with the British, American and Azerbaijani Literature as well as with various periods of the world literature

q       to possess deep knowledge in such fields of the theory of the language study as grammar, lexicology, phonetics and stylistics

q       to be well oriented in philosophy, history, economy and political sciences

q       to have translation and speech skills
